The Monaco Club Bed is Larkwood's most deliberate piece. A hand-turned four-poster in solid mahogany, designed by Abigail Lang and constructed by her father, Donald Lang, the English carpenter who founded Larkwood in 1988. It is built to the same specification as the resort beds Larkwood has supplied to five-star properties across Europe, the Americas, Africa, and Asia, including the Ritz-Carlton. The kind of construction engineered to be slept in every night for decades without compromise.

Each of the four posts is lathe-turned from a single length of solid mahogany to a pointed spire finial. The kind of detail that takes a craftsman the better part of a day per post, and shows. The posts rise above the headboard's arched silhouette, giving the piece a presence that changes the character of a room from the doorway.

The headboard draws from 18th-century European cabinetry. A shaped mahogany moulding, high central arch dropping to notched shoulders, frames a recessed panel of natural linen fitted by hand. At the base, faceted tapering legs are finished with solid brass hardware, left exposed and intentional. This piece does not hide how it was made.

• We offer our own local delivery service in Melbourne while our partner couriers and removalists deliver on our behalf for all other interstate customers.
  
  
• You will receive free shipping Australia-wide when you order over $1,400.

• All furniture comes assembled for the exception of desks, and small side tables, (light assembly required to avoid damage during transport)
  
  
• Regional-remote areas: If you are located in a remote area, do not worry, we are also able to deliver to you. In some cases we will crate your order to ensure safe transport.

Flat Shipping Rate $45:

Shipping rates are capped at $45 for any orders under $1,400. For all orders in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, and Adelaide, our couriers will bring your furniture item to your doorstep including steps. For all regional areas, and Perth your furniture will arrive boxed up and delivered at ground level. 

Delivery Timeframe:

1. Standard Delivery. Please allow 2-3 weeks to be delivered from our warehouse.
2. Priority Dispatch will be available in most cases, your items will leave the warehouse the following business day after your purchase is made. 

Shipping Transit Times:

• Sydney Metro area: 5-7 days.
• Brisbane / Gold Coast Metro area: 7-10 days.
• Melbourne Metro Area: 3-5 days.
• VIC Regional: 5-7 days.
• Adelaide: 5-7 days.
• Perth: 5-7 days.

We do not recommend using this outdoors. However, if you choose to, it is recommended that you keep the product under cover and not exposed.

General care:

Do not position under direct heat or sunlight.

Do not allow any liquid to be left on any surface for prolonged periods of time. If this occurs, wipe with down the surface with a clean wet cloth.

We do not recommend painting, sanding or varnishing.

We hope you love your purchase as much as we do, we have a 30-day trial, and not completely happy please retain your packaging to ensure its safe return.

CARING FOR YOUR WOODEN FURNITURE

Wood is a natural material.

During warm, humid weather wood can expand.

During dry weather wood contracts. These seasonal variations are normal characteristics of wood.

Do not position in front of radiator, direct sunlight,

avoid direct heat, moist environments and not for outdoor use.

Do not use abrasive cleaners. Wipe wood with a damp cloth, followed by a dry cloth. Any spills should be removed immediately. Take care when moving the furniture.

To maintain the colour and quality of the wood used for indoor only.

MINDI WOOD

Mindi is a hardwood timber, coarse in texture and their colour varies from light to dark brown. Natural variations may occur adding a charm to each piece.

MAHOGANY WOOD

Mahogany is a hardwood timber, coarse in texture and their reddish-brown colour.

TEAK WOOD

Teak is a hardwood timber, coarse in texture and their colour varies from golden to brown colour.

Teak wood is typically used in our Outdoor Collection for more intricate joinery in our Indoor Furniture Colleciton. 

Leather & Vegan Leather:

Avoid sharp objects and excessive force to prevent scratches and tears.

Keep it out of direct sun to avoid fading.
Keep the design distanced from fireplaces and heating vents. High temperature and humidity can dry leather out.

We suggest you steer clear of wax, polish, soaps and oil leather cleaners. They can affect the finish or discolour the leather. For small spots and spills use a dampened, soft cloth and let it air dry. For oil, butter, or grease spills use a clean, dry using cloth. Do not use water. The spot should naturally sink into the leather and fade away. 

Apply a leather conditioner to keep the leather soft and prevent drying out. For scratches rub leather conditioner with your finger or a soft cloth.

For thorough cleaning, we suggest taking this piece to a leather specialist only.

Fabric:

The fabric has been treated for soil and stain resistance. If the fabric gets dirty, apply 10-20ml of detergent solution on top of the spot; use a soft bristle brush to clean the fabric. Softly clean with a clean cloth and cold water. Allow the fabric to air dry.

Water Hyacinth (Rope Weave) : 

The French Modernist Armchair - Natural is made from Water Hyacinth rope, a natural unprocessed product. Keep it clean by using normal white vinegar from your local supermarket, spray in low quantities directly into the weaving, and use a soft toothbrush to clean it. Dab dry with a clean towel and allow to completely air dry before using. Avoid using bleach.

Keep this material away from high-humidity areas for prolonged periods of time. 

 

 

Warranty

The Monaco Club Bed carries a 5-year maker's guarantee covering all manufacturing defects in the frame, joinery, and hardware. This is a hand-constructed piece built to five-star resort specification. We stand behind it completely.

Returns

The Monaco Club Bed is made by request only, constructed specifically for the person who orders it. As a made-to-order piece, we are unable to accept returns or exchanges.

We encourage all enquiries before placing an order. Our team is available to answer any questions about dimensions, materials, lead times, and delivery before you commit. Once you have seen this piece in person, we are confident you will understand why a return policy was never part of the conversation.
